The project that I participated in was Zooniverse: Asteroid Zoo, a citizen science project that allows students to look at photographs of the surrounding of space 100 meters from the Earth. This allows many people to collaborate on the photos and determine if there are any asteroids in the vicinity of Earth posing immediate threats, or for artifacts that portray any strange behaviors. My contribution included marking several assumed asteroids and artifacts separately. I chose this project because I was interested in the idea of looking for asteroids in the near vicinity of space. After completing the project I feel that I understand that looking for objects in space is not as simple as looking through a telescope. There were many instances where i believed that a the photographs contained no asteroids when there were some already confirmed. http://www.asteroidzoo.org/#/classify
